Two days after my arrival in Anguilla, I had to batten down the hatches to prepare for the possible arrival of Hurricane Tammy which was slowly moving northeast along the island chain of the Antilles.

Last night, as I prepared for bed, I closed the final shutters on the front door of the cottage. I was all locked in and cozy, ready to wait out whatever Tammy might bring. But wonderful news, Tammy kept drifting northeast and didn’t bother Anguilla!! I awoke to a sunny day with a brisk breeze.

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone sent. I now know what to do if another hurricane approaches, but I hope Tammy was the last of the season!
