The other day, I was in the mood for fish and chips so I decided the only place to go was Hungry’s in the Valley. It’s only about a 5-minute drive for me.
When I walked into Hungry’s, I saw a colorful sports bar.
While there were tables, everyone was at the bar, so I joined the three men seated there along with the owner behind the bar. Everything is cooked to order, so while I waited for my meal, I drank a coke and visited with the men who were watching cricket on the TV.
The men asked me where I was from. I said Kansas City, Missouri, in the middle of the US. Then I asked them if they followed the World Cup. They nodded, so I told them that Kansas City was one of the host cities for World Cup 2026.
I also mentioned that one of the players on the Kansas City Chiefs football team was dating Taylor Swift. One of the men said, “Yes, Kelce!” So it turned out that they knew something about Kansas City, or at least Taylor Swift!
I took a stroll around Hungry’s and discovered a colorful mural to the side of the entrance. I believe it’s the Garden of Eden.
Then my food arrived, It looked delish! The owner asked if I wanted ketchup, tarter sauce, or hot sauce. I said hot sauce and the men at the bar nodded approvingly, I took the meal home to eat and ate half of it before I thought to take a photo! I will definitely return to Hungry’s for fish and chips or maybe something else on the menu.
Be sure to check out Hungry’s next time you are feeling peckish.
